Will say Costera has been one of best recent additions.

Zasu and Vyoone's are two that haven't been mentioned in this thread that deserve a mention.

Was it a particularly busy time?

Yes but I pass it often and I don’t think I’ve seen it not busy unless it’s outside of the dining hours.
Lots of bustle so I couldn’t tell if it was a front house problem or back but when rushed and wait staff was agreeable to put wine in go cups to get us out, that’s on the wait staff. I excuse a lot of stuff post-Covid but this was pre.
Another discussion should be how long do we let sloppy service slide post-Covid using Covid as an excuse?

Definitely Peche. Toups Meatery is a good one. I loved Costera, everything but the paella.

I really like Seaworthy too, but that.

I had arrogantly bad service there recently. Absolutely done with them. It's one thing to have a bad night and apologize or even just come back the next week and it all evens out.

I thought I was on candid camera. Tiny table for three, right in the traffic pattern, requested another table (place was maybe half full), was told there were other reservations (never showed) so they just kept bumping into us all night. It had to be a joke in the kitchen about the schmucks seated at table whatever.

Add that to the fact that the vibe there is all "we are so unhappy an oligarch is buying twitter" and I'm absolutely not going back ever again, nor recommending it.
