Tony’s Praline & Honey ham injection, anyone use it on Boston butt?

My neighbor gave me the butt because he needed the room in one of his six freezers, so I decided to experiment.
I ground up some dried onion (basically made onion powder), mixed it with this injection, plus did my normal black pepper, salt, garlic (and marinade) rubbed on the outside.
Anyone here ever use this marinade on a butt?
Too sweet?
It’s back in a vacuum bag, I will smoke it Wednesday.

Never have, but if it comes out really sweet hit it with some red wine vinegar and some peppers.

Ive used it on smoked ham, it’s decent. Never thought about using it on a butt. Let us know how it turns out.

That’s the reason I powdered some dried onions, to help balance the sweetness

I smoked this last night. It came out good, but a little under flavored. It smoked for about 14 hours, fell apart beautifully when I pulled it apart, and had a great bark on it. It is super tender, just a tad under seasoned. The sweetness is pretty good, just a hint. I taste zero pecan flavor.
