After reading the underrated bar in Baton Rouge thread I decided to stop in today for the 1st time.

I used to go to French Quarter Daiquiris occasionally and I was pleasantly surprised with the upgrades.

Much nicer inside...they serve "pub" food but I did not eat. Expanded the patio area.

If you get a chance stop by and support it. Good call Food and Drink board...definitely underrated.

It’s been a long time, but at one point, circa 2002, they had really good bar type food.

3 golden tee machines and live music too.

The last few years the place wasn’t the same and was showing its age.

This place use to sell us to-go daq’s in HS without an ID. FQD will forever hold a special place in my heart. Sad to hear it’s gone.

The food is VERY good at the Lost Cove. You should give it a try next time. Those hand cut fries are incredible.

Funny you say that. It’s one of the only bars I went to when I was under age because I could hang out in there all night and drink.

Let me second that. The food is excellent and they also definitely offer some creative cocktails.

The food at the new Cove is a great addition especially since that was one of the knocks I had with the old Cove. The cocktail menu is about 10% of the old which is much more practical, but man, I miss the salted caramel old fashioned (in house salted caramel is a p.i.t.a.), smoked bloody mary (I guess they got rid of the nebulizer and wood chips), and spanish coffee.

Did you ask the bartender if he can make it? He's made us off-menu drinks before.
shite, one time my SO had the hiccups and he made some drink for her to get rid of them. Worked like a charm.
