What I do think they may do is up the food game a bit and try to make it more of a destination.

Gawd, if the Columns had actually *good* food, the place would print money.

don't think they are going to do anything too wild. The neighborhood would revolt. And the Columns fits.

The rooms need a massive upgrade. It could use some upgrades and still wouldn’t lose its charm

So, is the pool going to be "swimsuit optional" like at The Drifter? I assume the guy who bought it is gay. Gay dudes love transforming these old house hotels in nude party palaces. Don't get creative, Jayson. Just clean the place up a bit.

You should check out some of his other projects. He is part of the renovations to St Vincent's guest house and some really high end developments. The Drifter is strange, but it fits the neighborhood.

The drifter’s, from Instagram, looks like the bar present company in Houston.

If the columns turned into present company, it would be a damn shame.

I stayed at the hotel last summer for a wedding and the place was a shite hole. I bet they could spend tens of thousands before even making very noticeable changes to the bar goers.
