re: The 10 best Treme and 7th Ward restaurants?

If a person eats out once a week for twenty years, he can eat at over 1,000 restaurants. I eat out four to five times a week. And have all my life. I still find it appalling that anyone would question my word. I don't doubt their word without reason. When have I ever given reason to doubt my word. I have mentioned restaurants I have not been to, and I've never claimed to be all-knowing. I have encouraged others to advise me on where I should eat. I still believe it comes down to envy. And that I cannot understand. I am happy to learn new things about New Orleans and I thank people who teach me things. I've thanked users here for restaurant suggestions that I've used. I don't sit here and suck at their tit and the next day say they are liars because my ego is so small it cannot accept that another knows or has experienced more of the city than I have. Similarly, posters on the Arts Board doubted that I had seen all the movies I claimed to have seen. They no longer feel that way.
Now, if you have a problem with my top ten lists for their quality, please state your reasons. I am happy to enter into dialogue about why I have rated certain restaurants higher than others and left others off the list entirely.

I actually really enjoy your top ten lists
I can't wait until there is a full compilation of the metro area. I do feel like I am owed some credit for inspiring you to start this via the Kenner appreciation thread.

It is without question that you, Powerman, are the muse for these tours through the city's neighborhoods. Without your appreciation for Kenner, I would have not have had the inspiration to begin it. I too feel the snobbery of some New Orleanians, often those who were not born here, and their dislike of all things outside the parish line. That does no justice to the history and quality of many fine restaurants in the area.

Seriously, I have no way to be envious of someone on a message board. Things aren't that bad in my life, sorry.
Your situation is different, I suppose, but for me, I would never have the time or inclination to cover everything and to do so multiple times.
Just out of curiosity - what's an established place (meaning not new) in Orleans or Jefferson parish that you've never been to but are interested in trying out?

Right. We all understand that as a whole New Orleans is the epicenter of cuisine and particularly upscale cuisine in the area. But to limit yourself to only New Orleans cuisine in the metro area is foolish at best. There are some great gems in the surrounding areas.
And a lot of great mid range places in unsuspecting areas. A few months ago I went to Sandro's Trattoria in the TJ Max shopping center and got a huge spread of food and a glass of wine for 32 dollars after tax.
Tomato Basil Soup
20 oz pork osso bucco
Tiramasu
Glass of Chianti
32 dollars and it was all delicious. There is nowhere in New Orleans where you can get that value with Italian food.

I've never been to Antoine's. I've had the opportunity, but something keeps me from going. I know it doesn't get very high marks from most critics, but that isn't why I don't go. It's because I want at least some mystery to remain in NOLA dining for me. Somewhere I can always look forward to eating at. Once you have everything, it's much easier to take things for granted.
In Jefferson Parish, I haven't been to The River House, the new restaurant where the old Le Parvenu was.

Same they give me ideas.
I have always wanted my own restaurant, and worked in a few in college. The last few months I have been buying up equipment. So I have been very curious of what others see as "top ten". I eat at more than 100 new places a year, easy. Just looking at Facebook check-ins I see I had a busy 2011 with new places, and that's with eating at Finn's and Company burger weekly.

Going to try your Chinese restaurant tomorrow, can't wait to check it out. I liked that thread and these, I wish others would give recommendations. I asked about the seventh ward the other day, lots of places to eat around Broad, I think I'm going to try a few this month.

Get the chicken wing app or the potstickers if you're into ordering apps
I like the salt toasted pork chop but it's similar in flavor to the salt and pepper chicken wings so I wouldn't order both.
I'm a big fan of the pan fried noodles and peking pork as well. Revel mentioned the intestine with XO Sauce which I still need to try.

I like the nachos at Finn's. Great bar food
Was thinking of stopping by there for the LSU game today

What neighborhood is Elizabeth's? Did that place make a list? I thought it was in Treme.
