I'm pretty sure its "puttheforkdown"

You made the same claim on the Movie board, but I do like a lot of your stuff on this board, so carry on

I agree with the shrimp and mirliton and oyster dressing

Apparently everywhere else Merliton is called Chayote squash or something. I'm doing a Cajun/Creole spread in either Austin or San Antoni this year; should be great.

Just got to decide what to do, If my Grandma is on her meds (Irish Whiskey) then we doing it in San Antonio, if she's cool we doing it in Austin.

But yeah Shrimp and Merliton and Oyster dressing is a must have in South LA.

I'm also a fan of fried turkey, and artichoke casserole.

My favorites are:

1. Cornbread dressing with gravy (My moms is the best. I literally eat this shite every meal for the next week)

2. Fried Turkey (Baked is acceptable, but not as good)

3. Honeybaked spiral sliced ham

4. Spinach Madeline

5. Corn and Tamale Cassarole

6. Green Bean Cassarole

7. Rice Dressing/Dirty Rice

8. Pecan Pie

9. Fresh Cranberry Sauce (frick that can shite)

10. Mashed Potatoes (Homemade, no box shite)

I understand the Oyster dressing thing, people tend to like what they grew up eating, but its not my thing. I find it to be more of a New Orleans thing, not so much a south LA thing.

Also, I've never been a fan of sweet potatoes and marshmellow cassarole. I just find it too sweet.

3) Turkey - Predictable, but it's not Thanksgiving without it. Don't overcook it, please.

The must haves

Turkey
Cornbread Dressing
Green Bean Casserole
Sweet potatoes
Giblet gravy
Canned Cranberry sauce (although I dont' touch it)
Pecan Pie

This year we are adding a Mac & cheese bake.
I'm thinking shells and cheese with a mix of Velveeta, cheddar and bread crumbs. With a layer of bread crumbs and cheddar on top.

I will seek you out IRL, to kill you for your number 9 entry, just for aesthetic purposes alone. That is one dish that should never have been invented.

Sweet potato casserole with brown sugar and pecan glaze topping
Creamed corn
Deviled Eggs

When I read the OP I thought it was 10 worst, I had to go back and check the thread title.

My contribution to the family dinner (25+) will be andouille cornbread dressing, there is never a teaspoon left. I'll also make homemade garlic bread.
