That an elder or passed relative used to make.

My great aunt used to make hogs head cheese when I was a kid. For the longest I wouldn’t touch it. Finally, one thanksgiving when I was older, she got me to eat a bit and it was amazing.

She’s still kicking, but at 93 no longer has the energy to do all the prep work. Gonna see if she’ll share her recipe tomorrow.

My grandma's roasted turkey. We still have great birds, but man that was magical.

Mawmaw made a really, really good pecan ambrosia. She recently passed and it kinda fell off her last few attempts. Think my mom is trying to revive it.

Anything that my mom cooked...i miss the smell of thanksgiving dinner being cooked when I woke up in the morning...espically after a night of drinking with my college buddies
When I was much younger I use to wake up early when my mom put the turkey on and she and I would watch the Macy's day parade together...never realized how good I had it...sure do her and her cooking
