Anyone have any good tequilas they would recommend for sipping on the rocks? I bought a bottle of 1800 Anejo this week that I was planning on opening this weekend. I'm just looking for something different than sipping on Bourbon

I don't know where to find it and its gonna cost you, but herradura cognac reserva is some of the best stuff I've ever drank!

My girlfriend and I did a blind taste test one time with five different tequilas we had in our liquor cabinet and we both picked the same one.

I believe they were:

Corralejo Reposado
Cimarron Reposado
Espolon Reposado
Camarena Reposado
Maestro Dobel Reposado

Surprisingly, we both chose Cimarron Reposado. It's about $26 a liter, and it's fantastic. The Maestro Dobel is also very sippable, but is about $37 a fifth.

If you want to get into tequilas, a bottle of cimarron is a fantastic starting point.

I'd also suggest doing some research on Tequila.net

And I can't remember if it's Don Julio or Patron (I think Don Julio)...I don't like it at all. It's got a sour after taste, so spending more doesn't always mean better.

Got the GF a bottle of this once, and it's also pretty solid, though about $60 a bottle. Incredibly light in color for an anejo.

Clase Azul Reposado is amazing.

The Patron Reposado isn't bad.

I haven't had many anejos that I liked. I prefer the slightly aged reposados.

A good chunk of that $100 price tag is the bottle. You can get tequilas that are as good for about $30 less.

(admittedly, I've never had it...just looking at ratings on tequila net)

Dang, for $35 that's a well rated tequila.

It's really good. I'm not a big tequila person but this stuff works great for everything sipping, shooting or mixing.

And it's only $30.00 a bottle at Specs.

I just brought back a couple bottles of Roca Patron from Cozumel. It's good.

If you've never had Casa Noble, you're missing out.
