Not as many pictures but here is our take on baked tandoori chicken. As mentioned before, we do not have a tandoor oven right now and it always tastes better the "legit" way. I hope you enjoy.
Ingredients:
12 chicken drumsticks or thighs (we used just drumsticks for ease of eating)
7 spoons of plain yogurt (we make our own but store bought is fine)
3-4 spoons of red chili powder
salt (I do not like saying how much, I like less, others love salt)
3 spoons coriander powder
3 spoons of ginger-garlic paste
red food color
lime juice from 2 full limes
First mix all ingredients in a large bowl and put in fridge for 12 hours. Add food color until it is red.
Bake for 45 minutes-50 minutes (until chicken is white and cooked) and serve with raw onions and lime
I know this looks dry but I can assure you that it isn't.

I always wondered at the red chicken and how it got its color. I romanticized it in my mind, thinking it was some secret sauce or spice from an ancient and mysterious part of Asian where no white has treaded . Nope. It was always red food color...sigh...
With that said, I would eat it. I would just eat it. I would eat it so hard. Looks good. Thanks for posting!

I have a good Tandoori chicken recipe
1. Buy a Tandoori oven
2. Cook chicken in it
3. Profit

I must have been reading this thread the same time as you.
Have you ever used a homemade tandoori oven?

They only cost around $500 bucks >coughs< for the cheapest model. As far as my cooking needs, I'll spend my kitchen money in other ways. Unless you're cooking Indian cuisine often for many people, it's just not worth the money or the space.
There was a place back home that would make a fantastic ginger naan. Usually, a garlic naan is offered on menus, but sadly, I can't find ginger naan anywhere here.

They were really good. I thought the spice was just right and the meat was very tender
