Tail meat per pound?

I know this has been discussed here on multiple occasions, but it's been a while. I peeled 10lbs of crawfish this weekend to freeze, and while I know that there was some "shrinkage" due to snacking, I ended up with 20oz of meat. Does that sound about right? I should also mention that this was at the end of the evening, so our peeling efficiency might not have been tip top.

15 to 18 percent of body weight is what you usaually get, I believe.

That's about right. My parents and grandparents use to do this all the time when crawfish was really cheap like .50/lb. They always say 8 lbs crawfish yields about 1 lb meat.

Nah, that's the price in BR these days. I bought some at Hi Nabor over the weekend to store in the freezer to get me through the summer and fall.

Damn, anybody wanna ship me some? Last time I looked they were $14-15/lb up here.
I paid $2.49 for crawfish this weekend, so that's about $20/lb, and I had to do all the work.
