Thanks to El Rey, I haven't been to Taco Cabana in 10+ years.
I'm not sure why anyone inside the loop would go to Taco Cabana. I think I'd rather eat Jack in the Box tacos as drunk food than Taco Cabana.

I went to the one in San Antonio a long arse time ago and thought it was decent. A lot better than Taco Bell.

Never met anyone who hyped up taco cabana like you're implying. It's drunk food when whataburger's line is too long.

I like the breakfast tacos. Cheap and very satisfying. I used to hit them up for lunch when travelling through Houston before they got rid of the rotisserie chicken meals. The rest of the stuff is meh (salsa fuego is the bomb though)

Taco Cabana has decent breakfast tacos, but it's downhill from there. Of course it's hard to screw up a breakfast taco.
Terrible service, dirty restaurants, and flavorless food. I guess the beer and wino-ritas keep them in business.

I know a couple of families who are from Tx and every time they plan a trip to visit, they hype it up. One of them usually brags about eating there at least 3 times in a weekend trip.
