Sunny's Rice and Noodles, New Korean Restaurant in Lafayette

It's good to see that a Korean restaurant is back in Lafayette. For those who remember, over a decade or so ago, Osaka (by the bowling alley) used to be Seoul, which was strictly a Korean restaurant. The owners are Korean and Vietnamese, but they decided to can the idea of being strictly a Korean restaurant to become a sushi joint. Although they still have a Korean menu upon request, it isn't quite the same as when it was Seoul. Lafayette just didn't catch on to this cuisine at the time. Even though I'd eaten there a dozen times, there were very few people eating there, sometimes I'd find myself the only diner in the restaurant, so guess I can't blame them for jumping on the sushi bandwagon.
Fast forward to 2018, and Lafayette now has a true Korean restaurant/menu again in Sunny's Rice and Noodles, formerly ACME Taco on Johnston by the mall. It features a modern and fresh atmosphere on the inside, and gone is any outdoor seating as their patio is now completely barren. I'm not going to give a full blown review at this time because I only tried one app and one entree, but I can say that I give them a thumbs up in food, atmosphere, and service. As with typical Korean fare, you'll get various side dishes which you can request more of at no extra charge.
Along with their authentic Korean fare, they also have "Chinese" offerings. I put Chinese in quotes because the dishes are the American Chinese dishes, like sweet and sour pork and the likes.
Here's their menu
I'll definitely be back to eat my way around their Korean menu.
...and to preempt any witty comments, no, I don't work there.

Looking at their menu around lunch time was a bad idea for me as now I am craving. There are a lot of the staples for Korean fare. I will look to make a visit soon I hope.

What's the building's history? All I know was that it was ACME (taco, not oyster). Not sure what fails came before that.

It was a donut shop and several other things I can't recall the name of. It is similar to the Drago's building in that regard.

Acme Taco bombed on the old Evangeline Thruway location, then closed and moved out on Johnson by the mall, only to bomb out there too.

Shanghai Moon before Acme. There is a donut shop next door. I don't remember it being a donut shop. Maybe a cajun/seafood place before Shanghai Moon. Maybe a BBQ joint at one time too. Can't remember.

I've been in Lafayette since early 1988. That building was a Burger Tyme as the featured menu item was the "Cajun Blaze" hamburger .... grilled onions on a spicy, well-seasoned burger. It was the schite back in the day. Burger Tyme was owned by the Moody family who partnered with the Trotters on lots of LAF investments including Evangeline Downs Racetrack.
The Moody's & Trotters once owned Burger King, Luther's BBQ, Chart House, Burger Tyme, Sonny's BBQ, and Outback Steakhouse. The other Burger Tyme location on Bertrand is a Habana City (FYI - I have zero affiliation with either family or their restaurants. My username is based on a seasoning business I own )
