Southern Roux in Lafayette

Any of y’all know anything about this place? It opened in a little snowball stand like structure on a ergo by stuller. Their face book page doesn’t have much info, and I assumed someone here may know them.

I don’t think they’re open every day, yet. Looks promising.

Picked up plate lunches twice there in the past 2 weeks. They only have 1 item on the menu each day for lunch, I believe.
Had a catfish po’ boy topped with crawfish etouffee last Friday, and beef stew with green beans and mash potatoes Monday this week. Both were excellent. About $10 a plate.
I hope people spread the word about this place, because I never saw anyone else in line the 2 times I went. Besides Earl’s, there isn’t a lunch plate spot around that area. I miss Papa T’s.

It is drive up/drive thru only, or is there a little sitting area behind it?

Picked up the shrimp stew today. That was the BEST damn shrimp stew I ever had. I hope they make it, because they are putting out quality plate lunches. I’m worried that they’re not getting enough traffic and exposure, but I could be wrong.

LeBouefs has a solid plate lunch. Office Hours plate lunch isn’t bad depending on the meal of the day. Both are on W. Pinhook and probably 2 miles from Earls

Anyone know if they closed shop? Haven’t seen the lights on in there for about 2 weeks. No updates on social media. That was my worry with that location…not enough traffic.

Great food. Bad location and bad business model.
The food was awesome, but drive-up drive-thru only doesn't foster much loyalty -- people want to go INSIDE a place to make it their own. The best comparison was when Taco Sisters was downtown on Johnston near Jefferson......at least they had picnik table seating when the weather was good. Drive thru only in a bad rain, but you had a place to eat when weather cleared up.
