my better half and I finally have a date night... sans kids of course.

Headed to soji at 845pm

What is a must get on the menu these days? Probably wont get ramen, so other suggestions welcome

Thanks!

UPDATE -
Thanks for all the suggestions. Everything was great. The only issue I had was with the worthless hostess. We had a reservation for 845 friday night and the place was dead. Maybe half full. She sat us in the front by the door when there was plenty of open seats away from the cold wind of the door. Awful seat. She also acted like she wasnt sure we could move because they had other reservations. Again.. the place was half empty and never filled up. I got use moved to the back near the raw bar and had a great time. I just felt like she put no effort or care where she sat us. It was the first open table at the door.

So the drinks were great. I had the Japanese mule and the little lady had some rose drink with egg white. Both were great.

Excellent suggestion on the curry shrimp ramen disk. It was amazing

The sunkissed roll with ginger truffle oil was excellent

The dumplings were fantastic.

Didnt care much for the seafood skewers as an app.

We finished with the fortune cookie like "funnel cake" So good.

My wife and I got the temper d tuna tataki app. It melted in your mouth, really good. We also got a sunkissed roll, crispy beef and the dumplings. Out of the 4 the crispy beef entree was the only one I would submit for something else. It was good, but the Szechuan left our mouths tingling.

The Thai cookie dessert was good too.

It's way too loud in there to hear each other talk without yelling at the top of your lungs so.. don't expect much romance on your date Food is good though.

Stick to the raw menu.

Everything else has been hit or miss for me

Not really looking for romance... Just a good time and good food.

We are fairly heavy drinkers from time to time... so we will hit the bar quite a bit. #ubernight

We like small plates and stuff to share....

You'll enjoy yourselves then. I know its gotten somewhat mixed reviews on here, but we loved it. I personally loved the dumplings, but all the small plates we got were really good. We did one sushi roll as well.

The drinks were pretty good, I would recommend the Japanese Mule.

Soji was loud and disappointing when we went. I’ve seen the mixed reviews and say it’s spot on. My dish was good, but we sent my SO’s dish back.

IMHO, go to White Star, drink at Mouton and get samplers from the different vendors.

Either way, enjoy your date night.

White Star would be a terrible place for a date. Nothing like a night out with the wife and youre sitting at a community table with a bunch of kids after a baseball game.

Just went last week and got the Lenten special Malaysian ramen. It is incredible. So rethink your decision.

Drunken noodles are always a favorite. And their sushi is up there with the best in the city

Agreed... we know white star. its a place we can bring our 4 kids and not care about how loud they get. Also the drinks are good and I love the pizza. Kids can get whatever they want... which is good because that changes nightly.

we've been wanting to do Soji for a while. We are not complainers if everything isnt perfect. If the drinks are unique and the food is above par. We will be happy.

Anyone had the wings? Sounds like we will definitely be getting the dumplings and some sushi. probably one more thing.

And it’s still more quite than Soji.

The Drunken Noodles and Thai Boat Noodles are both good. The sushi chef (Josh) is top-notch and his offerings are some of the best in town.

Hamachi
Drunken noodles
Cauliflower

Add whatever looks good, haven’t had anything bad there. People that complain about a crowded restaurant being loud baffle me.....maybe they just need a hearing aid, idk. Never in my life have I not enjoyed a restaurant b/c it was loud.
