So what is really going on at Marinas on Jeff/Hoo Shoo Too?!

That place will be closed down within 6 months if they don’t get their liquor license. Anybody know what the hell is going on? Got a story from the manager 6-8 weeks ago about how there had to be a vote since it was a new area that needed to be allowed to serve liquor. There is a gas station across the street, but I’ll admit I have no clue if that’s the same license.
Then damn near every week since it’s something different and they will have it next week. It’s become a laughing stock in the area. I’ve picked up there once and it was okay, but I’m out until they get their license. Seems like something fishy....
Anybody got an idea?

I have heard stories that he hasn't paid rent to the complex owner in quite some time. This has supposedly had a direct impact to the lack of a liquor license. We are talking possible court stuff. Not entirely sure if I have relayed the info correctly but the source I had is generally good.

Is the Shopping center owned by Ronnie Doran?

No idea. Just find it really weird there is no alcohol served at that restaurant.

Yeh...
Place could possibly be a gold mine with decent food and good Rita’s. It’s literally connected to a neighborhood and basically damn near walking distance to 6 others. Something isn’t right. Which makes me not want to do business with them at all because I feel like I’m being deceived.

You feel like a Mexican restaurant that doesn’t have a liquor license is deceiving you so you don’t want to do business with them yet you already have?
How about just get a microwaved burrito and a forty ounce at the gas station across the street and call it a day.
Jesus some people are just retarded.

God damn dude... chill out on the coffee, you the owner or something? Cause if so, quit telling people next week and just say... man I fricked up and I didn’t do shite the right way.
I feel like any restaurant that seems to be lying about shite regardless of who or what it is, is not some place I want to frequent. No telling how much other shite they are lying about is where I’m getting at. I live in the area and would love nothing more than to have a bar/restaurant within a couple minutes of my house to eat and have a couple Ritas/ beers at. Instead I drive into Pville and go to Agave Blue if I’m feeling Mexican.
My point is, I know a good bit of people in the area and many of them feel the same way. Why do you think it’s always empty? The food wasn’t terrible....
Quit being such a douche... I’m trying to find out wtf is going on b/c I see the joint everyday.

I live out here too, and Moe has told us everytime we go - the license is coming. He had plans for ladies night, music, drink specials, etc..... but if he doesnt start selling drinks soon - not sure he can make it. Licensing in this town can be difficult for restaurant owners - that is a known fact. Not sure whats up w La Marina tho.
Food is pretty good, but his management of the floor and kitchen needs help. He and his brother were arguing over which fish was Salmon or Mahi. Swear. My wife ordered Mahi and they sent her Salmon. Moe said he tried to tell his brother that in the kitchen.
Tough deal, but I hope they get it worked out. He seems like nice enough fella and I want a good spot nearby.
No idea on his rent payment tho.

Yeh. Seems like a nice enough dude... but that place was being finished before the flood and 1.5 yrs later still no license?
Like I said... he said they had to go before a vote b/c of the location. I kinda got that it meant it had to be voted on b/c it was basically attached to the neighborhood and was a new location. But, that was back in August he told us that I think.

I wish I knew as well. I live right down Hooshootoo and call every weekend to see if they are selling liquor yet and its always some different answer. I would love a place to grab a quick bite to eat and a margarita that is right by the house.

The hell with the liquor license. If the kitchen can't tell the difference between Salmon and Mahi.... I don't want any part of it.
