Ever since the Woman's Hospital built that nuclear plant right next to Mason's, I've been scared to eat there.

And they do a good and I'd step off and say exceptional crawfish étouffée. And that is hard to find these days.
Oh really? I need to check that out then. I love etouffee, but I hesitate to order it at restaurants unless I know it is legit since I can do a good etouffee myself.

I'm hesitant to call it over rated. It is what it is. A chargrilled burger on a sweet bun with shrimp, japs, and cheese. I think it works great together.
But they aren't grinding their own meat or blend and doing anything crazy. It's just a good flavor combo IMO.

I'd take the safe route and get the etouffee at Chimes if I were you...I got Mason's etouffee to-go a couple of times and it was horrible...Etouffee much like jambalaya is not a dish that's normally worth a flip at a restaurant.
Mason's and City Cafe on O' Neal should taste their etouffee before they send it out. They both need to learn to get the flour taste out of the sauce.
Chimes & Sammy's etouffees are pretty good, and they're both consistent with their taste.

Add Mike Willies (in the the old Crawfish Place spot) to the list of shitty etouffees. Mike Willies makes some real tasty food including their burgers, but their etouffee is not good at all.

I got to go with Skillet on this one..
I got the etouffee at Masons once and it was awful. I did not even finish it.
And I think the burger is very good, maybe not the best in BR.
I have learned to stick to the sandwiches at Mason's and have not be disappointed.

Mason's has a really good happy hour, and their staff seems very nice. I tried the Cuban sandwich once and it was pretty good.

Only been there once. Lunch on Friday.
Our waitress was not friendly. But at least she did a poor job.

the only redeeming quality at Mason's is the attractive waitstaff. other than that, the place sucks. usually a terribly long wait and the food is mediocre at best. their brunch is a fricking joke.

I definitely got the wrong ones then.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Rohan, like myself also gets turned on by Waffle House waitresses, with their comfortable shoes, empty hellos, tired look & raspy cigarette voices.

I like their burger but its not the best. I'd put Burgersmith, Louie's, Copelands, and Bonefish above it.

Bonefish
How would anyone think to eat a burger at Bonefish?

i remember when i was a kid and my father would cook hamburgers on the stove...those hamburgers and his oven baked fried chicken were incredibly delicious.

Mason's burgers were never that good. It's one of those overrated neighborhood places like Fleur de Lis pizza.
Couldn't be more wrong, congrats
