The family will be going to the Smoky Mountains this weekend - next week and are renting a cabin in Wears Valley. I am looking for good food / drink suggestions in this area. We really enjoy relaxing and taking our time at places with a good drink menu.

yep, over toward dandridge by the factory.

This area is really lacking good food. It's a lot of mediocre chains and crappy tourist spots. Much prefer the WNC side of the mountains for a foodie vacation. Lots of good spots over by Franklin/Highlands/Cashiers/Brevard.

Have they changed their policy regarding access to their dining facilities? in the past you had to be a guest except for specific services at certain times

I go 2-3 times a year. It isn't really a food place. I would suggest grilling in. If you do want to eat out, Calhouns and Cherokee grill are great. Doughnut Frier for amazing cake doughnuts. Carvers apple orchard for some home cooking. You can hike around Cosby.

ETA:

There is a BBQ place on 321 that has great BBQ chicken.

He can try, there are some non guest spots at the Barn. Might not be his thing though.

We do not accept same day dining reservation requests.

Reservations are made no more than 30 days in advance from the current date.

The Barn is available for diners 10 years and older.

I could eat at Pancake Pantry for every meal during an entire week in Gatlinburg and never get tired of it. Great menu, much more than just pancakes.
