Update on Momma: Visited here 2-9-2024. Much to my surprise, she answered the door. No sickbeds for her. She says she is not in any pain, and is happy all of her babies are calling on her. She says that justified the investment she made in people all those years.

She had surgery a while back, and is slow healing but healing nonetheless. She has begun radiation treatments. Interestingly enough, her treatment nurse is one of her babies! And when she enters the place, she is cheered by everyone there as a conquering hero.

She will begin chemo soon. She knows some dark days are ahead, but she leaning forward. Says to tell all of you hello.

I've attached some old pictures I have of her at the Moon at LSU, and one i took of her during our visit.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, as she keeps all of you in hers.

Thanks for posting; glad she is rebounding and will be a pleasure to give back to her.

My wife and I had out rehearsal dinner at the Silver Moon by the tracks; all the out if town guests / family absolutely loved it.

I wish she had the smothered chicken recipie in her cook book; if anyone has the secret(s) please share.

Momma and her daughter saw a lot of errors in her original cookbook, and some revisions are underway for a new printing. Stay tuned.

Healthwise, she is doing VERY well. Her hair is growing back after chemo, and she is still VERY active. I will check on the cookbook progress soon...

Momma believes the Lord has extended her life a bit, and He has a purpose for her. She still cooks, and her daughter is living with her. I saw her 2 weeks ago. She's still strong, and that voice can still cut like a knife...

I'm late replying but thanks for the update!! That's great to hear. Is she doing any catering or cooking? Would be awesome to see her again. If not, so great to hear she's better.

She has done some catering, as she feels up to it right now.. She does a lot around Mardi Gras and holidays.. So, yes! She loves doing it as her health allows.
