Gonna make bbq shrimp for supper but having a hard time coming up with a side dish besides french bread. Any ideas?

This is a crazy easy but very good cheese grit recipe. The Swiss and parm gives it great flavor. After baking it comes out more like a grit cake. Would be nice to serve the shrimp over this imo

And make the cheese grits the day before. They’re always better when they’ve been reheated before serving.

I grew up in a Cajun household and side dishes were pretty much never a concern. Literally I think Cajun food means "no side dish". My mom had the kitchen clean before the one pot/pan/casserole dish was served.

French bread is our side dish.

Crab meat au gratin and buy extra french bread.

Is this the head on, peel yourself original version of the dish? A garlicky-dressed green salad full of olives would be nice.

Agree with toof. French bread is our side dish.

The biggest loaf of French bread you can find to sop up all that delicious juice
