Should I brown the sausage before I put it in the Gumbo or nah?

To me, it depends on the sausage. Legit andouille doesn’t have a shite ton of fat to render, but if it’s just your typical smoked sausage, that’s a different story...

I think I actually prefer my red beans and rice with unbrowned sausage rather than browned bc it adds a nice flavor throughout that otherwise gets locked into the browned sausage.

If its lean i dont but if it has a good bit of fat i will
