Off shore Tasmania the bottles of beer were found with their corks in tact.
Carefully studied the yeast was still viable and is being used to make beer to support a local museum.
The first difference between that beer and modern brews is that modern yeast is short lived. The yeast recovered from the bottles in the wreck quickly converts all the available sugar, but the yeast lives.
They're also making bread from recovered yeast.

In what?
ETA: I'm just messing with you. This actually is a pretty cool discovery.

Needs to be brought to New England so they can make their famous IPAs with it

I love stories like this, whether it's a two hundred year old beer or a two thousand year old jar of mead, it's very cool to see a common thread run back through history.
