you're right about that. me and my family used to eat there once a week. they were so nice...i think they just got sick and tired of putting out quality chinese food while the picture menu places started popping up left and right, thus taking away some of their business...

so how's the jefferson location going ?? are the numbers about equal between your two locations ?

it's going well...numbers are about even, but one is slightly ahead of the other...and you'd be surprised at which one.

I pretty much asked the same about the river city place

Sorry, I wasn't able to log back in much over the past two days.

I believe Rick used to own the Bennigan's, before he re-branded the restaurant.

I also think it was open for a brief time under the new name.

come on zilla .. exaggerate much ?? you're waaaay better than this reach .. and to the other douche .. do you see me celebrating any of these guys going out of business ?? it is a topic relative to the economy in the area over the last few years coupled with the credo that you can't turn on an oven and get rich overnight in the restaurant biz ...

and in anticipating your next move:

expressing why someone goes out of business =/= celebrating the fact that they are out of business ...

I wasn't trying to suggest you celebrated them going out of business...I don't believe that ....just wondering why it is interest you so much ? its really more of just wishing you would post more in the F&D board, thats all

just to clarify...my dad and Sammy owned Sammy's Sourhern Bistro 50/50. It was a great place but the expansion killed them. My dad sold his half to Sammy about 6 months before it closed and opened Dempsey's shortly thereafter.

Yeah, I butchered up that scenario pretty bad..... I do remember that there used to be a place that sold hot tamales in the same strip center on Coursey that Dempsey's is in now. Can't remember the name of the place though.

Another recent closing to add to the list is Tropical Smoothie Cafe on Coursey.
