shady interview processes where you practically hold people hostage, forcing employees to purchase product in order to sell it.. I just can't support it
Went on an interview here, took 45 minutes total. Never felt pressured to take a job. They did recommend buying products so you could market them. So I agree that is a shitty thing to do.

It's a sales job. It works almost like any shitty sales branch. The managers are just salesmen that have to drive their sales teams and get paid off production.
I am familiar with how these things work.

They're one of the milder MLMs, but I refuse to support any.

We got it. Now, can we move on to the actual product and away from your virtue signaling?

Or just be rude.
Y'all were bitching at the people shitting on the product, so what do y'all want? They rope in kids to sell their shite, then rope in naive/elderly folks to spend well over $1000 on KITCHEN KNIVES. Thought those of you whose parents fell for that would care more

Meh, depends on the product. If it is a good product Im really not going to be swayed that gullible people work for them. I support plenty of restaurants that don't pay their employees a living wage.
I don't buy cutco because I just prefer ceramic knives. For what I do they are far superior to any metal blade that needs to be sharpened.

I can see your point about roping kids in, but every person I've known whose done it has made a little extra cash while in college then quit. They never said they had a negative experience with it.
It's not like the herbalife style ones that are pushing a purely sham product, and flaunting executive sales trips and leased BMWs. Or even the old-style encyclopedia salesmen that would shame someone into buying books for their child's education.
Intro level insurance salesmen employ the same "warm-market" tactics and are much more annoying and unrelenting.

My 2 cents. 30 years ago out of high school I was the only one selected of the class of interviewees to sell the knives. I purchased my salesman set at a heavy discount. I sold like I was told and did a damn good job that summer before college. I packed my knives away until I got married and still use them and are the only knives I use today. I don’t have a problem with them at all. It does everything I need and then some. If you don’t like them and buy something else I am sure the others work just as well. For me I purchased the investment years ago that I still use. Good knives, Good product not sure how cutco knives cut any different than other knives mentioned. Make an investment in good knives and move on.
For the record I did order the smaller set and gradually over time purchased the knives I needed to build my personal set, then purchased the wood block to hold the knives. I am starting to want some of the saduko knives they sell but have not purchased one yet.

the thing about cutco is i don't like how they feel in my hands, that is a huge part about a knife I love a thick spine that has some weight to it, and every cutco i touch doesn't have that feeling, more like a filet knife than something I want to use to butcher a slab of steaks.

They have a new handle that's contoured. My bride, who has small hands, finds them extremely comfortable. She is very uncomfortable with my Wusthoff chef's knife, it's too big, too heavy for her, so she grabs the carving knife instead. Both are Grand Prix I knives.

in what respect are they "good knives"?
They have a good warranty, that's it.

They hold their edge extremely well and have solid construction.

I have one of their serated hunting knives. It has skinned approximately 20 deer and just now really needs sharpened. It has a great handle, and the spine is stiff and strong. The sheath is heavy leather. I will keep it in my hunting bag till I pass it down to my kids.
That is my only experience. I have had nothing but good luck with them.

First of all, they don't even have an "edge", they're serrated.
Second, they're made of 440A steel, which is softer than the type of steel typically used in good quality knives (440C). Any "edge" holding a cutco knife has, would be made better if they actually used good steel.

CptRusty. Before you go on a tirade and bash get your facts right first before it goes to print.
Not all of the cutco knives are serrated.

People don't like hearing that they or their loved ones were bent over. Not my problem.
Dirty little secret: I love arguing, which is why I spend a lot of time on the poli-board

Correct, and the ones that aren't do not hold their edge worth shite...again, because they are made of shitty steel.
