Do they take reservations?

They don’t. We had no trouble getting a table around noon today. Food, service, and atmosphere were all great—caprese, pesto pizza with porchetta and artichokes, tiramisu, and cannoli with fresh ingredients either imported from Italy, locally sourced, or homemade. Going back for pasta soon.

How close is their pizza to the best NYC or NJ pizza? If not fugggetaboutit. Italian Pizza differs by region. Menus sounds like California pizza.

Agree. Their oven is gas rather than wood fired, but it heats to a high enough temperature that the end result is comparable. They had it built in Sicily and assembled on site by the builder.

WIfe and I went last night. Got there at 6:30 and it was crowded, but got seated right away. Started with the puffeto which came with a marinara sauce with melted mozzarella. It was a huge piece of airy bread shaped like a bowl cooked to perfection. We also shared the baci d' arancia which was tatsy.

The 2 main dishes were the highlight. We ordered an artisanal pasta tossed in braised leek cream, folded with spicy italian sausage and hazelnuts. This was phenomenal. Borderline salty, but it wasn't overpowering. The other dish we ordered was the cappellacci di zucca, which is handmade cappellacci filled with roasted butternut squash, ricotta parmigiano reggiano and served over Gorgonzola cheese cream and topped with roasted hazelnuts. It was incredible.

Finished with a cannoli. 3 drinks total, 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert and bill was $140 before tip, which is a steal for date night. That might've been my favorite meal in Lafayette since the first time I went to Vestal. Lafayette has a gem with this restaurant. Oh, and service was fast and food came out promptly. Not slow like I’ve read earlier. They must’ve added staff and worked out the kinks.

Spent some time, though, looking at the tile decor and what looked like Hindu figurines on one of the walls. I couldn't tell if I was in Sicily, Mexico, or India, lol.

It may sound funny, but I have trouble going to eat in a restaurant in a Strip Mall.
