Not exactly downtown, but Log Haven is my favorite place in SLC. Provisions would be second. Both are fine dining.

Pie Underground if you want a pizza/beer night with a college atmosphere. Fisher Brewing is my favorite brewery of all time.

Ditto on red iguana. Blue iguana has its supporters. Blue Nile downtown has VERY authentic Ethiopian food

Red iguana is good. If you’re into bakeries for breakfast, Eva’s and Tuile are both great

Vosen’s Bread Paradise also a legit bakery. Authentic German.

Brick’s Corner has elite pizza and a full bar (always a consideration in these parts).

Takashi downtown is great sushi. Get there a little before they open to get a table.

Also like white horse and lake affect.
