Has anyone gotten a good sack of oysters in the BR area recently? Looking to pick up a sack Saturday morning. I usually go to Tony’s but looking for other options. Thanks.

Well that settles it. I just knew those Chesapeake Bay oysters were straight up cyanide.

Try montalbano on florida,
Rouses also has small sacks.

I usually go to Westwego seafoood in NOLA or houma for big sacks cheaper.

I went to Westwego market last time. They were good but didn’t feel like driving there today. I talked to Montebano’s and Tony’s yesterday. Both said their oysters are coming from Houma area. Guess I’m gonna try Tony’s again today.

So, that's a half-sack price with probably no more than 8 dozen oysters in it, if that many.

Man, I hate what they've done to oysters in the last 20+ years or so. Once they went to those small half sacks, I knew it would never get back to the full 100 lb. sack with 20-22 dozen oysters in it-------------AND a hell of a lot cheaper than those tiny half sacks.
