Never been to R'evolution but we have an off-shoot here (Seafood Revolution) and it is damn good.
. Yeah it is. We don’t go to the metro a lot, but I’ve had a couple business meeting and a couple dinners with friends at Seafood Revolution and it’s been good every time.

I enjoyed R'evolution

However, I dont think I will ever go back because the price point is just out of control for New Orleans.

It was a nice meal, but I will def be heading back to Commanders and other places when I want upscale dining.

Would others agree?

Yea, I went and really enjoyed it but I said to myself maybe I'll head back here in like 5 years. I do think everyone should go there though.

I think it’s better than commanders. Is it really that much more expensive?? I tend not to look at prices unless I feel I’m not getting bang for my buck

I thought the food was excellent, and the atmosphere as well. But me and my wifes meal was right at $300, and that same meal cost us $150-$200 at most other restaurants in the same class

One thing I did notice. Although friendly, the service felt far less professional than commanders

That's kinda commanders thing though. They really focus on those details in their service.

About $100 more expensive for the two of us.

I mean more along the lines of I know the general idea of what I plan to spend when I go to a place

I know Revolution is higher end and if everything meets my standards for higher end places im less likely to worry about the price, if they screw something up or my food isn’t good I’m much more inclined to complain about the price

What did you get for $300? Bottle of wine?

We ate in the bar recently, had 4 apps 1 entree 2 wines & got out for like $180 w/ tip I think

Another time had 2 entrees 2 apps plus wine and was in $200 range

A couple drinks each, 2 apps, the gumbo, 2 entrees and dessert

Ran us right at $300. We order the same style at other restaurants and it’s usually around 150-200

Not mad about it. Just an observation it seems to be a higher price point

hey LSU I agree. Been a couple times, and it was great, but it’s priced as high as any place in the city. We have no plans to go back unless it’s part of a group and I did not make the plans

Had a great experience at R’evolution!
Had the gumbo to start.
Then the paneed veal chop with crab salad
The lady had the duck
We had a side of the lobster gnocchi
A couple drinks each and it was about 250 after tip
Loved the tour of the kitchen and wine cellar. Very impressive. I’d love to have a meal with a big group at that back room looking over kitchen
Good stuff

ETA: about 12 hours later did brunch at Mr. B’s then went and watched The Saints get it done. What a great weekend in Nola
