MOPS MEAT PIES weren't all that good in the quality of meat pies that I tasted in NE Louisiana. Does anyone on this board actually know what MOPS stood for? BTW, that person is still a practicing attorney.

They still have Little Ceasers (sp) here in Alabama. We don't have one in this town but they advertise on the Montgomery stations. I assume that Little Ceasers is located in the bigger towns and/or cities here in Alabama.

Are you serious? You live in New Orleans yet you miss a crappy chain burrito place?

Try Juan's - their burritos are at least as good as Izzo's.

There's a Little Ceasers in Brookhaven, MS. We stop there and get crazy bread on our way through sometimes.

I miss China Express on Coursey. The food was real good, until they sold. The food there now is horrible.

Amen to that. Best pepper steak EVER.

I miss Kit Wong's Mandarin's chinese on Florida and Donmoor. Flat out, hands down, the best friggin chinese I could ever ask for. Nothing I've eaten as far as chinese has come even close to matching. Really pisses me off knowing I won't ever have that chinese again.

Mandarin was ok, the stir-fry the best part, and what most of my friends preferred. His Mandarin wasn't in the league of his brother MK's Chinese Inn, when both were at the peak of each's powers.

I joke with Kit, laughingly asking him, "How is it that you're Chinese, yet you run a better sushi restraunt than you did a Chinese restraunt?

Does anyone remember Roma Deli on Sherwood Forest. That place was awesome, then they decided to build out, and had to shut the place down. Got the sandwich "Roma" style.

Loved Roma Deli, my friends and I loved their sandwiches Roma style, with that sensation salad lettuce on 'em.

The owner, I think John was his name? Was from KC? He should've never changed the deli/dive atmosphere to the restraunt, as it killed the charm, and never caught on, seemed he was desperately attempting to mimic DeAngelo's success at the time?

Also, he along with a few of his friends/BR biz owners, liked to play high limits Blackjack at the area boats all night..don't know if this eventually played a part in his business' demise or not? But he was finished after many years of BR biz, in the first five years after the boats opened here.

Pelican was a great diner. Basically grew up sitting on one of those chrome stools at the counter.. The Oleander was also great.. Oleander had the "Pony Room" Lounge... that I only got to peek inside once..
