Restaurant Reviews Mirimar Beach PIC HEAVY

We made our annual trek to the Mirimar Beach area for the 4th. We usually try to hit up some nicer restaurants, so here goes
Pazzo
Started with some calamari. Fried nicely, but cut a bit larger than I like. Marinara was top notch
For my meal I had the chef special Papardelle with Italian sausage and mushrooms. It was very nice.
Our next night was Bitterroot
We started with the house deviled eggs and boudin balls. The eggs, as simple as they were, were fantastic.
Our entrees were the short ribs and the “Sunday Gravy” both were exceptional
The next night we hit Ovide
This place never dissapoints. I had the Chicken skin appetizer and the filet. I would put this filet in the top three steaks I’ve ever had. It was great.
Wednesday night was a little more casual. We grabbed a not so quick bite at Camille’s
I had a wedge salad that was below average, and a burger that was only slightly above the salad. Service was incredibly slow, and they messed up several orders at our table. Don’t think they will make the cut next year.
Thursday night the bar went back up for us at Vin’tj out on Grand Blvd
We tried this place last year and enough in our group wanted to give it another shot, and I ‘m really glad we did. We started with a blue cheese tart and some seared tuna, both outstanding.
I had the shrimp and grits as my meal and it was great. Different than the NOLA style, but very good.
Our final meal was at Pepitos
We normally ho to Cantina Laredo for our guilty Mexican pleasure, but they couldn’t accommodate us this year. We will plan better next year. Pepitos was just average at best we had the “Wet Burrito” and the Birria tacos.
All in all a pretty good week of dinners. Already looking forward to next year.

Looks like a great time! Bitterroot is the best on this side of Destin.
Looks like Ovide is finally turning around.
Went a few years ago and it was horrific. 48 dollars for soggy “pan fried” chicken that was 45 minutes late. And a waiter who seemed like our table was a burden.
Would take a lot for me to go back.

We found Ovide three years ago. Our first meal was outstanding so We went back last year. It was just ok. Some in the group loved it some not so much, we decided to try again one more time and they were great. Apps came out quick, but dinner took a little while. It w as fine, we were a table of 16

Nope, not Arse, but I do miss the Fatty Rewinds or whatever he used to call his weekend debauchery.
