I would do dinner at Masraff's and Kenny and Ziggy's for brunch. They serve breakfast all day at Kenny and Ziggy's.

I'm a big fan of underbelly, not a far drive from the galleria. It infuses a lot of the different cultures of Houston into the restaurant, especially Korean and Mexican.

If you want something quick on the way to the game, stop by Crescent City Cafe in River Oaks. Cheap, fast, and damn good. Owned by people from NOLA I'm pretty sure

That area has really gone down though.
There are better hole in the wall type places scattered throughout the city.
