How long do you give a restaurant when they seat you for someone to acknowledge you with a drink order? Just sat 5 to 7 minutes. Nobody made eye contact. In a place with a lot of options how long would you wait??? I took my 15 bucks elsewhere.

At lunch I can't stand slow service, but I would just grab someone. If it was my first time there, I'd never go back.

I went to a Mexican place once and they brought us our drinks and chips and salsa and never came back. We drank our drinks, finished the basket of chips, and were full and headed out

my wife hates when this happens...she likes to wait about 10 mins. I'm ready to leave as soon as I sit down.

There are lots of good meals out there for less than $15.

where did you go? Out the place!

By the way, after about 10 minutes I normally go to the host stand and say something.

Ya'll wouldn't eat in Mississippi. When we go and visit the inlaws, which means we're going to dine at the fish camp, you're lucky to get waited on in 15 minutes after being seated. I caused a rift with the MIL once over waiting.

I've done this before and wasn't mad at all. water, 2 salsa's and a guac. It was damn good too.

I believe servers in restaurants are taught a 2 min rule or something like that.

You are supposed to at least greet your table within 2 minutes of them sitting down, even if it is just to say I'll be with you in just a minute.

The Waffle House reference made me think that it is sort of funny how they greet you when you walk in, and immediately come to your table.

Some "nice" establishments can't be bothered.

Something to be said for a system, and that customer service starts from the top.

That's 2 mornings at Starbuck's for me. And they start making my espresso and oatmeal with fruit when they see me drive up in the 350Z. Average time waiting... about 20 seconds.

Then I sit in the big comfy chair with a USA Today and read while the Christian Air Force Men's Bible Reading class holds a meeting discussing what "Jesus really meant."

If I'm lucky the short skirt college girl is typing on her laptop with her legs crossed.

You are eating a shitload of food at waffle house for 15 bucks....

The place was Cheesecake Factory and they were not that busy. Was just a reminder for me to always sit at the bar if non smoking and just a work lunch. Bartender can't ignore you. You are literally in their face.
