Restaurant bar seating in BR

We're driving in for the game tonight from CenLa. Looking for a restaurant that would be on the way or near campus with bar seating that we can just pop into around 6ish. I was thinking Little Village downtown maybe? I'm not familiar with BR dining so I'm not sure how crowded places get.

Call LV and see if you can get a reservation

I was trying to avoid reservations because our timing could fluctuate. Will their bar be insane?
Is Overpass Merchant good?

I'd bet nobody's bar will be insane on a Thursday besides the always-packed places like Superior. You'll be fine pretty much anywhere I'd think unless you're a group of people.
Merchant is great. It is smaller than most places, but I seldom can't get bar spots.
Solera is just a bit further down and their bar is always available.
I haven't been to LV in probably 10 years, but I doubt they get enough business to have a packed bar at 6pm on a Thursday. Unless their bar only seats a handful of people or something. I can't even picture it.
I'd recommend Cocha, but I know for a fact their bar only seats a handful of people and I can't speak to their weeknight business level.

My favorite bar seating is the Fleming's on Corporate for their Prime Burger and excellent cocktails. They have TV's but there won't be sound.

Mike Andersons has bar seating and a bar menu as well
Went before a baseball game one time cause we didn't have time to wait to sit in the restaurant

Man, some terrible recs in this thread. Dont go to Parrains, Mike Andersons, or the LV. Got to Overpass, Chow Yum Phat, Digullious (not after 6), Mid City Beer Garden, Solera, Ruth's Chris (not after 6), even the Chimes on campus would be good.

I think I'm going to try. If we can't get in, we'll reroute. Thanks everyone.

I would try to sit at the bar at DiGuilio Brothers under Perkins Street Overpass. It might be crowded, but I normally find a single or double spot at the bar. Great food, drinks and conversation.

You won't be disappointed. Cocha is top notch. And honestly, most people dine at tables there so you may be just fine.

Thank you so much. Checked all of the boxes: easy to get to, not crowded, didn't take too long, and great food. Nice to eat something other than fried seafood when in town, even though I do love fried seafood.

Less culture, and good beer options.
