So far I've had the following:

Pepperoni pizza slice, tomato/basil "white" slice, and fresh clam and mozzarella 10" "white" pie w/ garlic, from Zuppardi's

Fried chicken from Gus's

Crab bisque from Rajun Russell's

Yakamein from Miss Linda's

Dry-rub ribs from Central BBQ

Roast beef debris poboy from Cafe Reconcile

Bubblegum Snoball from Plum St.

Gus's was the best, followed by Zuppardi's.

I stopped in after Hogs just for the fried chicken. Overrated.

Gus's was the best,

I could have had Gus' yesterday while in Austin, but got fed up with lack of parking options near the restaurant on San Jancinto and went elsewhere.

Did I mess up?

There are a lot of food events going on today: hogs for the cause, crawfish fest, food fest. Pretty stupid planning.

Gus's alone was worth the trip. It's better than anything they have at Hogs for the Cause, I assure you. Once you eat Gus's, all other fried chicken becomes obselete. If you don't like Gus's, your tastebuds need examined.

I really don't know what to tell ya baw. Easily the best fried chicken I've ever had, and I've had them all, from Willie Mae's to McHardys to Lorman Country Store to Dominique's Stockyard to Uncle Lous and everything in between.

It's ok to have different opinions.

For instance I think the word "Baw" is dumb.

That's great and all.. But hogs doesn't have fried chicken. So I don't really understand where you're trying to go with that.

My point is that Gus's is the primary reason why I chose to come to the FoodFest over HftC.

It's the only reason why I stopped by after Hogs. I was stuffed but I heard so much about this chicken I had to stop by and try it. Walked right to the booth ate chicken and bounced.

Hoping to bike down tomorrow to try Gus', hoping it lives up to the hype.

I went back Sunday to get some more pizza and Gus's. This was the line for Gus's. None of the other vendors had a line.
