Went for an uptowner on lunch break. Sad to see, although I figured it was a matter of time.

Not suprised, they screwed up when they cut the menu in half-taking out all of the good things, changed the recipe, & went to counter service.

damn, didn't even know there was a Reginelli's there. Eight Years?

I remember Raoul's, Silver Moon, Green Duck, Gatti's, and Louie's all being right there. With a Cane's, Popeye's with a Buffet and a Taco Bell not too far down.

The good ol days..

I used to really like Reginelli's, I have one close by, I just find myself going other places now.

Next to Inga's and Geauxld Tiger or whatever it is. Other than Insomnia Cookie moving in it looks like that whole block is going to crap.

Pretty much, they need to get some serious new businesses in there. I still say a bar with the right management could cater to students and absolutely demolish tiger land

Hopefully the Newks back behind the new Louie's helps open up that area. A lot of potential for a bar or two with property that close to dorms/frat houses

That's some pretty drastic business changes. Must have been a desperation move.

There's two bars next door, and neither of them is really doing well.

There is one bar, Northgate has been closed for a while due to contract shite. The other is Slinky's. They aren't really trying to attract college kids

The whole Northgate area is WORLDS better than it was when Reginelli's opened 8 years ago.

W Chimes St just looks a little rough now when you compare it to the new construction that is around the corner. It has just been stagnant since Reginelli's got there. A few places have come and gone, but Reginelli's lasted longer than the 3 places before it.

As a matter of fact, for those of you who want a bar there, 3 different bars were in that same space that all closed in under a year before Reginelli's took over and renovated the inside. I can't remember the name of the 3rd but it was Dragonfly's and Tequila Cafe before it was Reginelli's. It was laid out fairly similarly but obviously a lot older fixtures, etc.

I don't understand this. They're like 100 yards from campus?

Doesn't really surprise me. The food wasn't awful. But it wasn't memorable.

It's a dive bar. I don't think too many students even know it exist.

The uptowner was the last thing they had going for them after the purge, but yes I agree even that was better at other locations. Convenience played a bigger part in me bringing my business there
