Putting sage in red beans is as out of line as anything in this thread.

I sprinkle sage on patty sausage when frying it. Never heard of sage in red beans.

I always start with dried beans, but I've used both red kidney beans and pinto beans. Both the wife and I prefer the pinto beans.
