Be careful of wireless units that are bluetooth as the range is limited to 30', at best, without obstruction. The maverick line is a good affordable option or you can explore the wi-fi ones from BBQ Guru. If only to read temps, I would go with the Maverick line.

Smoke

Anything from thermoworks is good.... this is a newer and tad bit less expensive than the others they have.

Thermoworks Smoke is the best and most reliable. Priced at $99.

I use a Thermopro I bought on Amazon for $40 and it has worked fine. Others use Mavericks that are around that same range.

Looking for one with more than 2 channels. Sometimes I am wanting to smoke meats of multiple sizes and types at the same time.

Thanks for the input, guys. The Smoke is a little outside my price range. I'll look into the maverick.

I have the maverick 732 and like it. Make sure to not submerge the probes in water though. Has a second unit for remote monitoring, hi/lo temp alarms, replacement probes are reasonable.

I checked it to see if it was accurately calibrated and it was pretty much dead on.

$60 on amazon, which I think is a bit more than I paid, but not certain on that.
