Apparently they are re-releasing what looks like a direct heat pellet grill, that functions more like your standard charcoal grill. If they get this right I think I may have to purchase one. My favorite part about the pellet grills is their ease of use.

I don't get why you wouldn't just get a Webber kettle instead of that if it's for direct heat.

Idk, a simple charcoal grill is pretty damn convenient.

Fire up a charcoal starter then dump in and you're ready.

With a pellet smoker, it makes sense because it's maintaining that temp for you for hours.

Seems like they had a good many issues with “burn back” with the beta model. I’m a huge rec tec fan, but I’ll wait and see what happens with the bullseye. I’ll let a few hundred folks buy one, read the reviews, then figure out what I want to do. But I agree, the bullseye seems like the best of both worlds, the ease of the pellet grill with the high temps of a charcoal grill.

Yeah hard to beat pushing a button and setting a temp. While I like a good charcoal grill just as much as the next guy, this would be great for grilling during the weekdays when I’m pressed for time.

I'm very intrigued and will likewise follow it.

I can't figure out what my next move is: premium kamodo (Primo, BGE, KJ), premium pellet (RecTec 590, Grilla), economy barrel grill/smoker (OK Joe Bronco, Pit Barrel Cooker), or economy pellet (RecTec Bullseye, Green Mountain Grills).

If it will really hit 700 degrees, I’m in like Flynn for $399!

My dad has the newer version of the KJ and he really likes it. I have the RT590 and couldn’t be more pleased. I had it narrowed down between the 590 and the GMG Daniel Boone. Seemed like the GMG was way too hit or miss. From reading on FB, it seemed like there were just as many people having problems within 3 months of buying their grill, as there were people who were totally satisfied. That is what turned me off of the GMG. Don’t regret spending the extra few hundred on the RT.

Before I decided on a pellet grill I had just about decided I was gonna get a Oklahoma Joe Bronco. I said all that to say this. I did a bunch of research, and it sounds like you have too. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of those you listed, except maybe the GMG, but that’s just one man’s opinion.

What’s the burn back. I have a original red one. Please explain? I did figure out the knob is day to day on temp so I keep a grate thermometer on there. It helped a ton. I was burning shite left and right. The lid thermometer is way off.

Those pics make it look like even more of a waste of money tbh.
