I like both. I like Canes for the batter. I tried to go to KFC a few months back and order my extra crispy and all they had was the new griiled stuff they actually suggested I call ahead for crispy next time. Shocking.

All you are proving is you have weak arse taste buds. They do taste different and they are fried differently.

You probably think coke and pepsi taste the same.

The strips are bland as hell and the fries suck.
+1 The fact that a Chick Fil A sandwich is just fine with bread, chicken, and a pickle, should tell you something. It doesn't need a bunch of shite on it to taste good. Canes sucks because their chicken sucks.

Saying they taste different is not be acting like a connoisseur.

I guess all the hamburgers taste the same at all the burger joints and all the pizza is the same.

Saying they taste the exact same is just .... wrong.

Maybe to you but not at all to me.
I had friends work at both when we were in HS. I heard all about the marinade from the girl at Chik-fil-a and heard nothing of the such from Canes.

All chicken is the same to me when it comes to the meat only, but you have to be blind to not notice the very thin layer of batter at Chik-fil-a compared to the thick batter at Canes.

You can see how thick that batter is. Some people like it super greasy and thick like that but I don't like that much batter.

You can see the meat straight through that thin layer.

It's a very identifiable difference to me, and I don't see how you can't see it.
That being said, I don't like chicken that much and would much prefer a seafood poboy or even a burger if I want fast food.

It's no secret that the "secret" to Chick-Fil-A's chicken flavor is that they marinate it in pickle juice.

They taste much different. I'm no big Chick-fil-A advocate or anything, and it's not worth much of a debate over it because I don't care for either one.
But there's absolutely a taste difference.
Plus, looking different has a lot to do with tasting different because as I explained, it's the thick greasy batter I don't like.. not the chicken meat itself.

And even if there WASN'T one, getting sick after one and not the other makes all the difference in the world

I always hear people bitch about the size of canes tenders but I never really noticed a change in size until last night. I ordered a box combo and it looked like a drastic change from the last time I ate there. I guess business is still good but eventually it seems like people will get tired of their shite. When I first started eating canes the box had 5 large tenders and I remember it being around 5.50 to 6 bucks. Now its about 7 something and you get 4 small tenders.

Huh? I've never detected even a hint of that most vile substance, "pickle", in Chik-Fil-A tenders, which I've always considered >>>>> Cane's. Is it homeopathic pickle juice or something?

My first job was working at the Chick-Fil-A in the Lake Forest Plaza in New Orleans East. THEY DO NOT MARINATE THE CHICKEN IN PICKLE JUICE. The original isn't even marinated at all, only the grilled chicken is, and it IS NOT pickle juice.

The only secret is the seasoning in the batter. You might THINK there's pickle juice involved, because they're all prepared with only butter and 2 slices of dill pickle, and stuffed into a foil bag. If you order a "deluxe", they pull it out the bag, slap lettuce, tom, and cheese on that bad boy, and put it in a box. In the meantime, its been sitting in that bag with butter and 2 slices of dill pickle. That's your "marinade."

Chick-Fil-A's batter/coating looks different not because of the batter itself (just a flour mixture with seasonings)..its because of the cooking method. They're cooked in a pressure cooker like KFC original.

Chick-Fil-A was my first "real" job as a teenager, and they do,
indeed, marinate their chicken in pickle juice. (They have a marinade
powder that is mixed with pickle juice actually). When I worked there
(granted, this was more than 10 years ago) the only chicken that
wasn't marinated this way was the nuggets. They may have changed that
since then, but I could always taste the pickle flavor on the chicken

quote:

You know the taste secret to the Chick fil A chicken, right? They marinate it in pickle juice. This is not an urban legend -- one of my students is the manager of the local CFA.
And their chicken salad is ground up CFA fried chicken breasts.

quote:

They marinate the chix in pickle juice then cook it, which gives it the flavor you either love or hate.

quote:

They marinade in pickle juice and use powdered sugar in their crust. For some reason it all comes together nicely.

It seems to be quite a big debate on the interwebz, but I've always heard it was.
You may be right but a bunch of others who work there claim they're right so I don't really have a reputable person to believe

The size of Canes fingers varies with each batch, but each tender usually weighs in at around 1.5 oz.
