Not the most thrilling recipe in the world, but anything is exciting at this point. Wanted to make use of the ground beef and half bag of Ore Ida diced hash browns with peppers I had in the freezer. I have no less than 10 frozen pie doughs from the holidays, so came up with this hodgepodge creation.

Brown ground beef and shallot or onion. Season well. I did taco blend and extra onion powder, garlic powder, and umami seasoning.

Remove meat and brown frozen hash browns. I seasoned these as well.

Add a can of rotel.

Remove from heat and stir in a bag of Mexican cheese. I also stirred in 1/4c sour cream which helped hold everything together.

Cover with pie crust and brush with egg.

Bake at 400 until crust is browned. I did maybe 25(?) minutes.

Looks like something the family would love. I'm at the point of looking up all kinds of hamburger meat recipes

If you have pie dough and extra potatoes, try making bureks. Had a Bosnian neighbor that used to make them with potato and onion and they were delicious.

Looks great. Doing something similar tonight.

Brown the meat and drain.
Season with taco seasoning.
Add cream of mushroom.
Spread one can crescent roll on casserole dish.
Layer 1- Meat,
Layer 2- Sour cream
Layer 3- Shredded cheese
Repeat one time and then cover with second can crescent rolls.

Bake 350 for around 10 minutes to melt cheese and brown the crescent rolls.

And we always add different things. (Tomato, Onion, Doritos, jalapenos.) pretty much whatever you want.

Never done potatoes though, Might try that one.

Pretty cool, I’m guessing you probably could have made a Mexican version shepherds pie too.

Yeah, I thought about just putting the potatoes on top as the crust like a shepherd's pie, but I think I enjoyed it more this way. I really love pie crust. Plus, I have so many that I need to get rid of.

Check out myfridgefood.com

You select the ingredients you have on hand and it comes up with a number of recipes. Neat little tool if you're unsure what direction to go.
