So if that with a cup of skim milk is no good for a healthy, sustainable weight loss diet, can someone advise an "instant" breakfast similar to that which fits that mold?

It's pretty simple.. just don't eat prepackaged sugar filled oatmeal. By a big container of just oats, heat up water and pour it in. Then you can add a little bit of sugar, or throw in some raisins for taste. It will have drastically less sugar in it.

Thank Mouton. So add in a spoon of salsa and your talking 500 calories. That would leave me 1250, give or take, for the rest of the day. I can manage that pretty easily I think.

Yep, and those Ole low carb tortillas are great. I eat burritos using 93% lean ground beef or diced chicken breast almost everyday. They are only 50 calories each and loaded with fiber.

Yeah, I just make my steel cut oats, add cinnamon, and a spoon of honey and I'm good to go.

Just now. I usually stay away from the F&D Board because it can get pretty brutal in here.

It's been over about 6 months so not too impressive when you look at it like that. Decided I didn't want to give up tailgating so that slowed it down. But what really stopped my weight loss was all the drinking during the holidays. Now it's time to see how I can do without drinking so much.

Actually giving up drinking except on mardis gras weekend starting now

Was going to wait until the end of the month for a weigh in being that I was scared of the holiday damage. After not drinking for two weeks and lots of added cardio I decided to go for it Saturday morning. Was pleasantly suprised to weigh in at 154. The last times I had weighted before Christmas I was 158-159. Figured i was probably about 162 by years end.

I think it's still good even for half a year.

agree.slow and keeping it off is better than fast and going right back.

I lost 53 pounds and it took me 10 months. Sustaining is the long term goal now.

I weighed in at 207 a few days ago on a scale that didn't belong to me, so really have no way of knowing the accuracy. I haven't been home to use mine in over a week, and I'm leaving to go out of town for 3 days so I'll have gone nearly 2 weeks without a proper weigh-in Diet has stayed good for the most part, but my gym routine is getting fricked this week (thanks work). Oh well, normalcy returns on Friday.
