Is $12.99/lb at fresh market. This is not a whole roast, but individual cuts.

I don't think it is a real prime strip at that price.

YOu are right. They are probably not telling the truth. A false national marketing campaign stating they are selling USDA Prime NY strip is an excellent way to drum up business.

Their meat is legit. My butcher says they don't make any money on those prime specials. Says they bank on you buying something else not on sell to turn a profit on you.

Almost like a lost leader. I bought several things on the way out so I guess it works.

That's basically anything that's on sale. We used to lose money on certain items like avocados.

Why do some of those fish steaks that are frozen taste like rusty nails?

The one in Lafayette gets "fresh" tuna on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. You can see the difference when they are next to each other.

Damn. No Fresh Markets this far west...

We have New Seasons and Market of Choice, so I decided to look at their weekly ads. Damn. There's some pretty good stuff. I need to start looking at them more often.

Usually when I go to those places I am looking for something specific, and am more interested in what they have on tap. I really should go with the flow and pay more attention to what's on sale.
