Previously frozen vs Fresh

Is there a big difference in taste of pork ribs(spare and baby back) that are labelled previously frozen vs what a butcher would sell?
I notice most grocery store weekly ad's specify their cryovac ribs are "previously frozen" and am under the impression most all store ribs are previously frozen. There used to be a butcher near my work that sold ribs that were never frozen but I remember the price always being high and never bought them.
I usually get mine when on sale at grocery or costco and am wondering if butcher and paying extra is worth it or if anyone has done a taste test.

After 4-6 hrs of smoking + rub + maybe sauce then I doubt there is much discernible difference.
Fresh and unfrozen anything will generally taste better than frozen version if you aren't adding such heavy outside flavors

I dont notice it for pork because it's so fatty and really wont dry out, but I notice a huge difference in chicken.

I'd imagine the prolonged cooking process ribs typically go through would wash out any quality difference. Plus, commercial meat operations aren't using your 0F freezer to freeze meats. They're using extremely powerful blast freezers that will quickly freeze meats, limiting the size of the ice crystals that form and minimizing the degradation to the meat that they cause.
I don't think I'd prefer a frozen steak to a fresh one, but I also don't think I'd notice the difference between frozen ribs vs. fresh.

Nothing wrong with previously frozen pork.

I always buy fresh ribs. The frozen ones dont have as good a texture,
