Post Office Pies. Best pizza in Birmingham

I've had it once, as leftovers with a friend. And it was good then.
Had it fresh for the first time Saturday night. I think it was the best pizza I've ever head. I had the pepperoni and it had so much flavor it was crazy. The wood fire gives it a hint of smoke.

This was about 11:00 Saturday night, and they had at least a dozen workers hammering out pizzas like crazy.
No atmosphere whatsoever and a sad little bar with just a few beers on tap. But it does one thing perfectly, wood fired pizza.

I've never been because every time I am down that way in Avondale, I can't pass up Saw's Soul Kitchen. They are opening one in Tuscaloosa soon so it is only a matter of time now until I try a pie from there. Looking forward to it.

Apparently, it's owned by the same people.
I generally go to the Saw's in Homewood, because it's hard to say 'no' to their ribs and chicken w/ white sauce. I've heard the burgers at the Soul Kitchen are great.

I've always had a fondness for Davenports in mountain brook

is slice still near the 5 points area? I enjoyed their pizza--and especially enjoyed that they had snake handler on tap

Went there for the 1st time last month. Thought the pizza was great. We had the chicken pesto and pepperoni. I didn't think the atmosphere was terrible but you can always grab a pie to-go and eat at Avondale Brewery.

Easily the best. Avondale is becoming a great little hotspot.

It really is. I was surprised by the amount of people. A few new bars as well. Saturn? First time I'd seen that place.

I believe it's in Lakeview.

Haven't been there yet. I know plenty of people that think its great. I'm a big fan of Tortuga's right now. Fantastic Chicago style pizza.

Another pretty good place but holy crap does the location suck. Unless you know it's there you're going to miss it.
