When I was in Rouses yesterday picking up a 2 pack of Butts I asked the guy how many they had and he said only 50 cases were being sold at that price and when they were gone, that's it, no rainchecks.

opening up one every 5 miles they have had shite from quality control. They carry crap meat and their “butchers” are no where near what they need to be in terms of knowledge.

Completely agree. We have three within a 10 mile radius and they are all the same. Seems like a lot of the meat is previously frozen. It’s still frozen in the display case. Can’t be too fresh.
I rather shop the local IGA or sometimes even Walmart.

I like it pulled with slaw and a white vinegar sauce like NC. If I slice it I make a pork gravy with rice. And I like baked apples with it.

I may chop the rest of it and cook it with some white beans tomorrow. Came out great even though the grill temp was higher than I normally set to. No way to squeeze 7lb at 250 in the time I had.

I’d add the pork at the end ....

Rouses is like any chain grocery they are only as good as the stores management. We most often frequent the one in Thibodeaux and have never had a problem there with quality of meat or service. The only trouble we have ever had was in Gonzales on twords Baton Rouge and especially in the buy out stores that used to be something else its like the employees are bitter and dont care.
