Agree. 2 Johns and Texas Street in Bossier have better steaks.

both are decent lunch options.
I hate Shane's. And if I'm going for a diner style place, I'd rather Strawn's on Kings than Southfield Grill. But I don't like either for lunch, those are breakfast only type places, IMO.

I lived in Shreveport briefly (maybe 4 months) in 2010. I pretty much lived at Vintage. I go every time I get back to Shreveport. Ed and Erica

Some great suggestions submitted so far. To add: if you are into tapas, Stir Tapas on Kings/Creswell is good and have some unique drinks as well.
I've been to Franks Pizza Napolitana a few times and really enjoy the Milano Mule and the Limoncello cocktails. The burrata appetizer is nice as are the fig & pig, Pistachio/Rosemary, Margherita Extra and Prosciutto/Arugala pizzas. There risotto specials and wood oven grilled quail w/ polenta special is well done as well.
Other good Italian options are Chianti in Shreveport, Giuseppe's in Shreveport and L'Italiano in Bossier. Some on here disparage Giuseppe's but I haven't had a bad dish there. They had a shaved fennel/octopus crudo that you can't get anywhere else in this area.
Bella Fresca on Line Ave. is always of good quality.
Noble Savage was outstanding food several weeks ago. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is a bar (but the drinks are really good; had my first taste of RedBreast Irish whiskey there) and there will be smoke and no one under 21 is allowed in.
Kabuki Sushi on Airline in Bossier has the best Korean dishes: Bulgogi,Kalbi, Japchae, Hwe dup bap,Yukgaejang (spicy beef stew), monkfish, etc.
Some great dives are:
Pho Sai Gon on 70th street if you like Vietnamese.
La Jaibita in Bossier on Barksdale Blvd. is the only Mexican seafood restaurant and have great ceviche.
Enjoy your time in Ratchet City!

yeah, not a fan of Stir Tapas either

It's pretty pricey for tapas. We went for a birthday a few months ago and I payed $10 for a single portobello mushroom. The crab cakes were pretty good, though.
Overall, I wouldn't go back.

We went for brunch once and the lobster roll that my wife ordered was just laughable. It was seriously just 1 oz of lobster with some type of slaw, wrapped in a piece of iceberg lettuce. And they charged $18 for it.

I ordered a $10 gin martini on the rocks. It was served in a shot glass and I drank it in one sip - it was entirely water. A geriatric woman next to us complained to the server about how weak her scotch & water was. I've heard of someone calling them out for serving ham instead of prosciutto with the 3 pieces of asparagus they give you for $9.
Apparently they did listen to the criticisms of the demitasse cup of truffle mac & cheese they were peddling for $6. Now they serve a huge bowl of (basically) Kraft M&C instead. That place just can't get right.

I know the two guys that own Stir. I have pretty much read and heard nothing but bad things about the place, but my pops says it's always packed.

It's a very hip location. I've never been, but I guess I won't be going either. It is right down the street from me though.
I never went when it was Columbia Cafe either. That place was always packed.

Julie Anne's has the best petit fours in Shreveport. My wife loves them.
But they're expensive has hell. I wish we had a bakery like that in Bossier City. I only buy them when I go to Fant's Barbershop and Museum.

when I was at Byrd in the late 90s and the Julie Anne's was in their original location in the little strip next to the comic book store things were a little cheaper. I used to get a cannoli almost every day after school.
