I was so excited to make gumbo tomorrow. I found out my sausage from Teets won’t be shipped until Monday. Anything I get in Nashville would ruin it. What should I cook?

Don’t give up yet. Go to an upscale grocery, look for andouille. Aidells sells a version, and you might be surprised at what else you find.

Wake up early, Uber to the airport, fly to New Orleans hitch a ride with a LSU fan and party in Baton Rouge. Call the family and tell them, sometimes you gotta go above and beyond to get what you want.

I live here and make gumbo all the time.
Kroger sells Savoie and even Walmart has 2 or 3 different brands of andouille.

No one said it would be the same. But savoie’s certainly won’t ruin a gumbo. Better than a lot of other mass market options.
