lol, this is ridiculous. Should it really have to come to that for someone to snag a four pack of local beer? You don't even have to set major limits just make it a 5 case limit and anyone would be able to get some, while Parish would still sell out.
shite, maybe they will even deliver it to your house. then you dont have to do a damn think but drink your beer

well that'd be great too, but I'd settle for not having to wait in line for 3 hours.
My biggest gripe was the taproom doing last call at 4:45 when they closed at 5:00. I got there at 4:52 to be turned away.

how is the line Parish's fault/problem? think you need to blame your fellow hop heads for that.

soooo they should have stayed at work until you determined you've had enough beers for the day?
your gripes seem pretty unreasonable

they advertised that they were closing at 5 and closed at 4:45. I tried to get there earlier, but still arrived before they said the were closing. Asking them to honor the posted closing time is in no way unreasonable.

"closing" and "last call" are not synonymous
most bars do a last call. i'm still failing to see your point

Just about any taproom or bar or restaurant anywhere does a last call 10-15 minutes before actual closing time.

Idk, I guess I'm used to different bars. I've never seen one stop serving 15 minutes before closing time before Saturday (particularly at 5 on Saturday). I haven't been to many brewery taprooms though

5 does seem a little early, but I think they are only open until 7 on normal Saturdays... but they had all their staff there earlier than usual because they started selling the beer at 10.

There's just some beers you won't be able to get. DDH Ghost was clearly not just a four pack of local beer. If your desire was just for that you'd have gone during the week and got the other 3 special releases they had.

In fairness, the hype-train sold this out. This board was shitting on ghost in the weeks leading up to the release.
Remember everyone standing in line for BOEnvie downtalking ghost?

Only people I saw shitting on Ghost were the usual suspects.

By that argument, all the people from Houston should have gotten up and driven across the swamp, too.

Andrew/Parish doesnt owe a slow metered sales approach to anyone. If I spend thousands and thousands of dollars brewing multiple "experimental" beers I want my money back quickly. no limits....
Yeah, the business owner side of me says cash flow all in a day on a product is awesome. Waiting 30, 60, or 90 days on invoices sucks big time.
The customer satisfaction side of me would like to see limits. You want to take care of your local customers as they'll support you even when you don't have special beers for sale. Locals are going to drink Envie when there's nothing else, but they might think twice if they think Parish would rather turn a blind eye to bootlegging to get cash instead of taking care of the locals.

I have to imagine that the extreme quantities being purchased (for muling or for flipping) surprised the Parish folks.
They didn't have any issues with no limits the first three weekends, and they brewed twice as much DDH Ghost as the first three hoppy releases.
But... DDH Ghost... people went a little nuts.

quote:I did that for the first spindletap Juiceton release. By now, we all should know what to expect. If you want the beer bad enough plan accordingly. I don't have sympathy for Houston peeps driving in super early.

Who knows. 4miles posted Andrew knew they were coming, but I'm not taking second-hand as fact.

Yeah, he knew that it was going to happen to some degree, but I still think the extreme amounts had to surprise him.

I saw on the Parish website they'll let you take 1/2 gallon with you. I'm guessing that's still the case and probably 1/2 gallon per person? Odds of having Attacus still on tap by the last weekend of this month? I'll be in the area and wondering what to expect.
Posted on 12/12/17 at 12:53 pm to nerd guy
Yeah they are doing crowler fills now that all the bottles are gone.
I would not expect any Attacus Atlas that far out... but I honestly have no idea how much they have for the taproom.

Also saw they have DDH Ghost on tap. That'd be a huge bummer if they ran out of both! But I don't have any expectations of getting either.
Posted on 12/12/17 at 1:04 pm to LSUBoo
Also, do they sell crowler's there? And maybe that's a dumb question. I own neither a growler or crowler. Thanks for the info.
