If you want to talk price, an El Rey would change fastfood culture in NOLA. An El Rey next to Tips would cash better than a Bud's in Tigerland.

Let's be honest it would almost certainly open on Vets.
Would it be where the old Webster's was? Or by Bonefish? Or perhaps where Cheesecake Bistro was? Oh, the possibilities.
ETA: Or where Taco Tico was?

If you're trying to argue that pappasitos is better than the original ninfas please step away from the keyboard.
Chuys is about equal to pappasitos.
Frebirds and. TA...yea, I'll give you that.

Of the places you named that I've been to...
I live down the street and nothing including the the parking and service was better than Citos
For enchiladas, yes. I will give you that.
Agreed. I had that in my top 4. As well as El Tiempo
For the lime marinated beef fajitas, yes. But only that.
In no way better.
A few others ive tried, but i got bored with comments...I will try the others. Again, I'm not claiming to know more. I just have tried a lot of TEX Mex in last 12 months and Citos is still top 5 IMo.

It would and it would. I'm not saying it's the best ever. But it's miles better than anything I've had here.
I don't know why the Mexican food is so bad here.

I think it would be the best TexMex in the city.

Decent fried seafood, but the bread is too damn big for the poboys, and their seafood gumbo is tomato-based.
I've only eaten Pappasito's when the company has brought it into the office to cater a morning or noon-time meeting. The steak fajitas were so soft and moist, seemed to melt in my mouth. Breakfast burritos were good too.

now we are talking, I love El Ray.
Whats the morning work traffic that area because El Ray breakfast and coffee is better than their late night.

I've been to the El Tiempo on Richmond and really enjoyed it. I got the stuffed avocado.

If you ever tried Romero's Las Brazas in Copperfield/Cypress they would go to the top of your list. The only thing fantastic about Papasito's is their fajitas. Romero's fajitas are just as tender and tasty. All other food would favor Romero's by a long shot. Romero's margaritas are better also - not as bitter/sour as Papsita's. Romero's is a lot cheaper also.

And the best Mexican in Houston goes to...
Teotihuacan.
If any of you Houstonians haven't eaten there I highly suggest it. Airline @ N Main in the Heights.
La Guadalupana is also incredible. This is more authentic Mexican than TexMex.

I thought El Real was pretty solid in Houston.
