Chef Irv Miller of Jackson’s Steak House in Pensacola is doing a book signing at the Bookstore/Bar Saturday 4-6. He’s a huge ambassador for Gulf Seafood and Gulf Oysters. I’ll be serving up oysters along with Pensacola Bay oyster company. Bill-E’s bacon and Ghost Train Brewery from Birmingham will also be there. Stop on by and say hello if anyone is in the area. Any suggestions for dinner that night would be great! I’ve had Dragonfly and Sunset Pointe.

2 good choices there. I recommend the Ravenite for pizza and Sage for Lebanese. The Wash House, which is a mile South of the Grand Hotel, is one of my favorite spots for finer dining, but is still casual.

I hate to be that guy, but how casual? Will be there in a few weekends from now and other than the Sunday brunch I don't want to worry about even wearing pants.

Would khaki shorts be ok?

We just seriously want to relax as much as possible and may not leave the ground and eat at the pool grill or use room service, which is not how I usually roll.

Khaki shorts and a polo or collared shirt would be OK, but I'd wear khakis. Order the Chateaubriand

The food served by the pool is very good and they'll bring it to you along with beers/drinks. I recommend eating by the pool for lunch and leaving the grounds for dinner.

All the recs so far are great. I was just going to add a couple casual options that are good. Texarbama BBQ is downtown and really good. Also, if you are looking for a solid casual seafood joint, check out Big Daddy's on Fish River.
