Any former islanders know any good hole in the wall type places? Not looking for uncooked fish either.

The easy and obvious choice is L&L Drive In (get the loco moco or chicken katsu).

Best breakfast on the Island is at Koa Pancake House.

The best Mexican on the entire Island is Diego's Taco Shop. Get the Diego's Burrito and thank me later.

There's always Teddy's Bigger Burger as well.

Teds Bakery (very hole in the wall) on the north shore is worth the drive across the island. Hell, its worth a walk across the island of you have to. Sharks cove grill is good up there also.

Make sure you catch a quick lunch at Blazin Steaks. 8-10 ounces of juicy steak, scoop of rice, salad and a drink for like 7 bucks. It is absolutely delicious. The key is their sauce. They have like 4 different sauces that you must try.

Enjoy your trip

If you're going to be in Honolulu, I can highly recommend the "Hole in the Wall Tour." They'll take you to places most tourists never see. I'm not usually one for organized tours, but this one was fabulous! Hole in the Wall Food Tour

And check out the Shrimp Trucks on the North Shore. Make sure you get a Shaved Ice (Hawaiian version of snowballs and they're much better than ours.)
